Goals and Objectives of
Cross of Glory Preschool
Cross of Glory Preschool takes seriously its obligation to assist parents in teaching and training their children as the Savior commanded. “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14) and “Feed my lambs.” (John 21:15) Our goal as a preschool is to nurture and train our children as God’s lambs and followers of our Savior.
God has given parents the primary responsibility for training their children. Cross of Glory Preschool, as an extention
of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, exists to assist parents in their God-given task to train their children to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Therefore our objectives as a preschool are:
1. Assist parents in teaching their children God’s wonderful plan to rescue all people from spiritual death and give them eternal life.
2. Help your child develop his/her mental and physical talents through new learning experiences.
3. Help your child develop emotionally.
4. Help your child become acquainted with a school environment in preparation for Kindergarten.

Meet our Preschool Teacher
Mrs. Rabideau has taught preschool at Cross of Glory since 1994, and kindergarten from 2000-2004. "I truly enjoy being around small children, and teaching them about Jesus" comments Mrs. Rabideau. Mrs. Rabideau is also the cheerleading coach for the older school children. "Simply put, I LOVE TO TEACH!"

Curriculum
Our Curriculum consists of these principle visions of learning:
Play: As children play they learn to use their bodies and their minds. During the course of the day the children will have the opportunity to do role playing and have a free play period to broaden their experiences.
Experiential Learning: Through the listed activities the child will have a chance to explore language and communication skills:
1. Speaking activities (sharing time, creative dramatics and role playing).
2. Listening activities (finger plays, story telling, reading books, puppetry).
3. Reading readiness (names, box labels, traffic signs and names).
Music: Children will learn fun songs — both secular and religious.
Art: The children will do various art activities including instructional and creative ones.
Science: The children will explore God’s creation through exploration and observation.
Field Trips: Field trips are part of our program. They are taken when deemed appropriate to the program. Permission slips will be sent home in advance to have the parents’ permission for the trip. Parents will be responsible for helping with transportation for the field trips wherever possible. Your help and participation is always welcome.

A Brief History of Cross of Glory Pre-School
Cross of Glory Lutheran preschool opened its doors in the fall of 1995. Our classroom was located in the fellowship hall behind the sanctuary of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church. We opened with 12 four year old children that came to school Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9AM to 11:30AM. Ladies from Cross of Glory would volunteer as classroom aids.
After our first year, our school started to grow and we expanded to three sessions. Two for the four year olds, morning and afternoon, and one session for three year olds held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. We also added a permanent helper at this point.
It was then decided that we would need to add classrooms onto our Church. Construction began, it was an exciting year watching "our" new classroom be built. Our class kept watch over our new room, asking questions and getting the workers water and sometimes treats. Our room was at last finished and in March of 1998 we move all of our toys, paper, crayons and fun things into our new room. It was a very happy day!
We have been here ever since. Having fun, learning our letters and numbers and most importantly learning about Jesus our Savior and how much He loves us.
